JCP Solicitors

Award-winning Welsh law firm JCP Solicitors has implemented Legl's client lifecycle management platform, representing their drive to enhance client experience and maintain sector-leading compliance practices.
Legl was developed in 2019 to support client onboarding, identity verification, business verification, risk assessments, sanctions screening, source of funds checks and ongoing monitoring through a single, integrated process.
As law firms face increased threats of cyber-attacks in recent years, compliance and data management systems have become an integral part of successful business practice.
This investment into Legl’s advanced technology allows JCP to strengthen their client service offer, supporting regulatory compliance and reducing risk.
With 9 offices and 180 people based throughout South and West Wales, JCP provides a range of legal services to individuals, families and businesses: with this latest partnership with Legl, the firm is streamlining and future-proofing the delivery of its reliable legal services.
Supporting a Consistent Approach Across the Firm
As regulatory requirements relating to anti-money laundering and client due diligence continue to evolve, JCP sought a solution that would support a consistent approach across all practice areas while maintaining efficient onboarding processes and effective compliance oversight.
Following a longstanding relationship with Legl, the firm implemented its compliance suite, including identity verification (KYC), business verification (KYB), risk assessments and PEP and sanctions screening.
The implementation has enabled JCP to bring together key onboarding and compliance activities within a single workflow, improving visibility, consistency and record keeping throughout the client lifecycle.
The platform also provides clients with a straightforward digital process for completing identification and verification requirements, helping to reduce delays and improve the onboarding experience.
Delivering Operational and Compliance Benefits
The project was delivered through a phased implementation programme involving the firm's compliance, operational and legal teams.
Legl worked closely with JCP throughout the rollout to ensure the platform was configured to support their already established onboarding processes and centralised compliance model.
The platform now supports the management, review and approval of client due diligence requirements through a structured workflow, providing greater visibility of onboarding activity and supporting a consistent approach across practice areas.
In addition to strengthening compliance processes, the business has reduced the administrative effort associated with onboarding activities, enabling legal and support teams to focus more time on delivering services to clients.
Natalie Corbi, Compliance Director at JCP Solicitors, said:
"We wanted a solution that would support a consistent approach to client due diligence whilst making the onboarding process straightforward for both clients and colleagues. Legl has enabled us to bring key onboarding and compliance activities into a single process, providing greater visibility and oversight across the client lifecycle, and we are already seeing efficiencies across the firm."
Looking Ahead
The implementation of Legl forms part of JCP’s ongoing investment in technology, operational excellence and client service.
By establishing a consistent and auditable onboarding framework, the firm has strengthened its ability to support clients efficiently while maintaining the high standards of compliance, governance and client care expected of a leading regional Welsh law firm.
Julia Salasky, Chief Executive Officer of Legl, said:
“JCP Solicitors is exactly the kind of firm we are delighted to partner with: a respected, multi-disciplined practice with high standards and a genuinely rigorous, centralised approach to compliance. What is exciting about this rollout is that JCP has not treated compliance as a box-ticking exercise. They have used it to build a modern, firm-wide client lifecycle that makes onboarding radically faster for clients and lawyers while raising the bar on due diligence. The early results speak for themselves, and we are proud to support Natalie and the wider team as they continue to build on this foundation.”
