London, UK / Chicago, USA – 15 September 2026 – Legl, the client lifecycle, client experience and client intelligence platform for law firms, today announced a strategic partnership with Litera, the Legal AI platform provider that best unifies the practice and business of law, bringing together two platforms trusted across the UK’s top law firms. The partnership gives mutual customers a joined-up way to manage the entire client relationship from intake, onboarding, due diligence and AML through to payments, alongside the front- and back-office workflows firms run inside Microsoft 365 every day.

The partnership responds directly to demand from the firms both companies serve. Legl works with 57 of the top 200 UK law firms, while Litera Matter Management is trusted by leading law firms worldwide, with significant overlap between the two customer bases.  Legl and Litera are committed to add further value for these shared customers and to help more of the UK’s leading firms modernise how they onboard clients, meet their compliance obligations, and operate at scale.

Built on demand from shared customers

The starting point for the partnership was the firms themselves. Customers running Legl for client intake, due diligence and payments, and matter management, increasingly asked the two providers to work more closely together so their teams could move between compliance and client-relationship workflows without friction or duplicated data entry. That shared customer pull shaped the partnership, and both businesses have committed to continuing to invest in the value they deliver to these top law firms.

Bringing AI to back-office operations

A central focus of the partnership is helping firms leverage AI across their back-office operations. Client intake, onboarding, AML and compliance have historically been manual, document-heavy processes that consume significant fee-earner and support-team time. By connecting Legl’s client lifecycle platform and AI-enabled capabilities with  Litera Matter Management’s inception workflow and the wider Microsoft ecosystem, firms can automate more of these processes end to end. This significantly reduces the number of human touch points in each workflow, cutting administrative effort, and surfacing risk and exceptions faster.

The result is greater efficiency and a more effective route to scale: firms can onboard more clients and matters, apply consistent and auditable compliance standards, and reallocate skilled people away from repetitive administration and towards higher-value client work, without adding headcount as volumes grow. Faster, cleaner onboarding also strengthens the client relationship from the first interaction, turning a process most firms treat as a hurdle into opening the engagement.

A strategic partnership for the UK’s top 200 firms

For both companies, this is a long-term, strategic relationship rather than a one-off integration. Legl and Litera will work together to support more of the top 200 UK law firms in achieving their goals across the areas where the two platforms meet. As regulatory expectations continue to rise with the transition to the FCA as AML supervisor in the UK and firms look to consolidate onto fewer, better-connected systems, the partnership gives leading firms a clear path to bring their client lifecycle and their day-to-day operations together on technology they already trust.

Comments from Legl and Litera

“This partnership started with our customers. Time and again, the leading firms we work with told us they wanted their client lifecycle and their client-relationship and back-office systems to work as one with less manual work, fewer handoffs, and compliance that is built in rather than bolted on. Litera is trusted by many of the same firms we serve, and together we can help them apply AI across intake, onboarding, AML, compliance and payments to reduce human touch points and scale with confidence. We’re proud to be partnering with Litera to add real, practical value for the top law firms in the UK.”

— Julia Salasky, CEO, Legl

“Our mission is to transform the entire legal experience and give firms efficiencies they didn’t think possible. Bringing Legl’s client lifecycle and compliance capabilities together with  Litera Matter Management means firms can manage client relationships, matters and compliance in the Microsoft tools they use every day, with AI removing manual effort across their operations. Partnering with Legl will support more of the UK’s leading firms as they modernise how they work.”

— Grant Hewlett, VP, Product for Firm Intelligence, Litera
