London, UK – 29 September 2026 – Legl, the leading client lifecycle management and AML compliance platform for law firms, today announced the Legl x NetDocuments integration with NetDocuments, the intelligent DMS for legal professionals.

The integration connects Legl’s onboarding, identity verification, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring workflows directly with NetDocuments’ document management, version control, and compliance infrastructure, enabling the automatic filing of KYC, KYB, risk assessment, and client due diligence (CDD) documentation into the correct matter workspace, with no manual intervention.

“Partnering with NetDocuments reflects a shared commitment to practical, day-to-day operational improvement for law firms. The firms that will thrive in the next five years are those that build on connected, scalable infrastructure. Together, Legl and NetDocuments give law firms the operating stack they need — from client onboarding through to document governance and beyond.”
— Julia Salasky, Founder & CEO, Legl

Customer Benefits at a Glance

  • Automatic saving of Legl-generated compliance documents into the correct NetDocuments workspace
  • Consistent document naming and filing against client and matter references, with no manual intervention
  • Stronger audit trails, with all KYC, KYB, and risk assessment documentation retained in the governed DMS
  • Faster matter readiness as onboarding and due diligence records appear in NetDocuments automatically
  • Reduced admin and duplicate handling for legal ops and secretarial teams
  • FCA-ready compliance infrastructure with a systems-level approach to AML documentation
  • Scalable onboarding for growing firms, ideal for M&A, PE-backed, and multi-office structures

The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for the legal sector. In the UK, law firm mergers have surged 18% year-on-year, regulatory reform continues to reshape the compliance landscape, and AI adoption across the sector is accelerating rapidly, with firms increasingly focused on building the connected data foundations needed to unlock its full value.

In Australia, law firms are preparing to comply with new Tranche 2 regulatory requirements, which will significantly extend AML/CTF obligations to legal professionals. Against this backdrop, firms that invest now in a connected, clean data infrastructure will be the ones best positioned to scale, comply, and compete.

The Integration

The integration connects Legl’s onboarding, AML compliance, identity verification, risk assessment, and monitoring workflows directly with NetDocuments’ intelligent document management platform. Documents generated through Legl, including CDD reports, company reports, and risk assessments, are automatically filed within the appropriate NetDocuments workspace using client and matter references.

As law firms invest in AI, governance and data quality have become increasingly important. Automatically filing compliance documentation into the system of record creates a trusted foundation for future AI, knowledge management, and search initiatives.

Availability

The Legl x NetDocuments integration is available now to all joint customers. Firms using both platforms can enable the integration directly from the Legl settings page. For firms using only one platform, both Legl and NetDocuments offer introductions to the other. Both platforms also integrate with Actionstep and Clio.
